Golden View Szklarska Poręba

Złoty Widok is a place whose name refers to the stunning view of the beautiful panorama of the Western Karkonosze Mountains; it is a great viewpoint that, in good visibility, allows you to see even the distant Śnieżka! Złoty Widok is a rocky threshold located almost 20 meters above the gorge of the Kamienna River. The panorama can be admired from the viewing terrace.

Chybotek

Chybotek is one of the oldest tourist attractions in the town of Szklarska Poręba, a rock group visited since the 19th century.

Interestingly, its balance can be disturbed. To do this, one must climb to the top of the rocks and quickly move from one end of the boulder to the other. The task is not easy but doable. After these actions, the rock will sway slightly. Hence its name Chybotek. Another name for this tourist attraction in Szklarska Poręba is Misa Cukru, which comes from its shape, resembling a small sugar bowl.

Death Curve

On the edge of the High Ridge in the Izera Mountains, in 1937 a military structure was opened, later named Zakręt Śmierci. Currently, there is a viewing terrace from which you can admire the beautiful panorama of the entire Karkonosze.

Unfortunately, the nearly 180-degree turn owes its infamous name to numerous car accidents.

High Stone

This peak - Wysoki Kamień, measuring 1058 m above sea level, is located in the Izera Mountains, from which you can admire, among others, Śnieżka, Szrenica, Rudawy Janowickie, Góry Kaczawskie, and much more. At the summit, you will find an atmospheric shelter with a characteristic tower, where you can enjoy a beautiful view. You can reach Wysoki Kamień just above Szklarska Poręba via the yellow trail, which is relatively easy and not demanding, ideal for walks with the youngest.

Śnieżne Kotły

These are two glacial basins located at an altitude of 1490 m above sea level between Łabski Szczyt and Wielki Szyszak in the western part of the Karkonosze. From the summit, there is an excellent view of the Izera, Kaczawskie, Rudawy Janowickie Mountains, and the Jelenia Góra Valley. A trip to this peak is best planned between spring and early autumn. In winter, snow and ice can accumulate there, which can sometimes make hiking difficult. We encourage you to start your route to the summit from Jagniątków, then walk blue trail until Czarnej Przełęczy, where you should then turn onto the red trail, which leads directly to Śnieżne Kotły.

Kamieńczyk Waterfall

Wodospad Kamieńczyka is one of the largest natural attractions of this region and Szklarska Poręba. It consists of 3 cascades with a total height of 27 m and is the highest waterfall in the region. The characteristic Kamieńczyk Gorge impresses with its extraordinary rocky walls. Under the middle cascade of the waterfall lies Złota Jama - a small, partially artificially carved cave, which adds exceptional charm and mystery to the location.

Szrenica

Szrenica is the peak towering over the town of Szklarska Poręba in the Main Ridge of the Karkonosze, with a height of 1362 m, which can be reached not only via a hiking trail but also by the chairlift of SKI ARENA Szrenica. On the summit, there is the famous mountain shelter "Szrenica," and the top of the mountain is covered with granite rubble. Although Szrenica is not a high mountain, the climatic conditions here are similar to those in the Alps at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level, which exceptionally supports the operation of a good skiing infrastructure. Szrenica is also a fantastic viewpoint for the Jelenia Góra Valley, the Izera Mountains, and the Kaczawskie Mountains.

Szklarka Waterfall

Wodospad Szklarki is located in the picturesque part of the Karkonosze National Park. It is formed by the stream Szklarka, which in the middle part of the Szklarki Gorge falls 520 m down a cascading rocky threshold that narrows at the bottom and spirals. The water stream of the waterfall has a height of 13.3 m.

Juna Land Museum

Muzeum Ziemi Juna is a Walonian watchtower located in the building of Karczma Głodowa in Szklarska Poręba. In the museum, you can admire an extraordinary collection of minerals, participate in workshops, and learn about the history of the Walonians. The building also houses a store with jewelry made from precious and decorative stones.

JUNA The Walloons’ Hut

Stara Chata Walońska was built on the site of the former settlement along the so-called Czech Trail, and we reach it by passing various interesting rock formations. It is the seat of the Walonians in Szklarska Poręba — heirs of the medieval masters in the extraction and processing of natural resources, iron ores, metals, precious stones, and quartz. At one time it was the headquarters of the Sudeten Brotherhood created by Grand Master Juliusz Naumowicz.

Schronisko Pod Łabskim Szczytem

It is one of the oldest, most popular, and best-located lodges in the Karkonosze Mountains. Located on a hall under Łabski Szczytem at an altitude of 1168 m above sea level, it was built between 1618 and 1648, initially serving as shelter for shepherds and wanderers. After a fire in 1914, the lodge was rebuilt, and soon thereafter, another level was added. From this place, you will see Szklarska Poręba, the Jelenia Góra Valley, the Izera Mountains, and with very good visibility, the outlines of the distant Ostrzyca.

Raven Rocks Szklarska Poręba

This is an impressive rock group on the right bank of the Kamienna River at an altitude of 718 m above sea level. It consists of two massive granite towers up to 30 m high, providing an excellent viewpoint over the Kamienna Valley, part of the town, and the Izera Mountains. The rock is located above the Kamienna River at Sikorskiego Street, while the entrance to Krucze Skały is at Mickiewicza Street. To get there, you need to walk a few hundred meters up along the national road, and at the Kamieńczyk parking lot, turn left. The massif is divided into two parts. In the southern part, there is a cross. Its history is connected with World War I. It commemorates the residents of Szklarska Poręba who went missing at that time.

Court Linden

It is located in the oldest part of Szklarska Poręba. Centuries ago, it was the center of the former Old Village, as Szklarska Poręba was originally called. The name of this place is associated with the courts that took place here once a year. On the other side of the street stood the Court Inn. Today, Lipa Sądowa is a unique tree - a natural monument, under which we also find a boulder informing us about this place and a small resting area.
